FORTHCOMING EVENTS


NMRC’S ONLINE ‘FESTIVAL TIPS’ 2026
(SUPPORTING THE INJURED JOCKEYS FUND)
 
As last year we have the same panel of experts available to share their selections via our ‘event web page’ which will be shared to all members making donations to our ‘Just Giving’ web page set up for the IJF.
 
Besides our panel of four (covering all races each day) we will also have a range of guest tipsters sharing their naps of the week.
 
Members do not have to sit through hours of discussions about the races with all tips posted online by 9pm on the eve of each day’s racing. 
 
Here are some highlights from last year’s event:
 
Michael Shinners (Skybet) selected Jimmy Du Seuil (won @ 16/1) ; Daryl Jacob selected Stumptown (won @ 5/2); Paul Ferguson (Weatherbys guide) selected Haiti Couleurs (won @ 7/2). Paul Jacobs (Moorstyle), Gordon Brown (Racing TV) & Dan Kelly (2024 preview guest) all chipped in with placed each way selections.
 
Graham Rossiter (Betfred TV) had the following winners: Inothewayurthinkin (15/2), Golden Ace (25/1) was tipped w/o favourite, Doddiethegreat (25/1) & Daily Present (12/1).
 
Gordon Armistead (Racin’ Magazine): Winners included Lecky Watson (20/1), Bambino Fever (4/1), Jazzy Matty (15/2), Haiti Couleurs (7/2) & Kopek Des Bordes (4/6).
 
Martin Unsworth (Form & Ante Post expert): Puturhandstogether (17/2), Myretown (13/2), The New Lion (3/1) & Dinoblue (6/4). Martin also provided a good number of successful ‘lay’ opportunities.
 
Phil Evans (Trends Guides): Puturhandstogether (17/2), Woodhooh (9/2), Bambino Fever (4/1), Kargese (3/1), Jagwar (3/1) & Fact To File (6/4).
 
The aim is to raise some funds for the IJF so we are asking for a minimum donation of £5 per person (covers all four days). However, members may donate more if they can afford it!
 
To sign up for these events please e mail [email protected] and you will then be sent a link to the ‘just giving’ website the club has set up for the IJF. Once the donation is received (ideally ticking the gift aid box) members will then be sent the log in details each day for these online events.
 
Members who do not wish to send donations via ‘Just Giving’ website can send cheques to NMRC at 53 Dalebrook Rd, Sale, M33 3LB and we shall ensure the donations are passed onto the IJF.

NMRC's Alex Bird Competition starts on March 10th and covers the big racing festivals at Cheltenham, Aintree, Chester & Royal Ascot. This competition usually has a prize fund in excess of £1000 and a Racing Post membership worth £499.

 ‘ITV 7’ ‘FREE TO ENTER’ COMPETITION 
 
One thing we know about our members is that they love a good racing competition.
 
We have three feature tipping competitions already (Saturday Naps, Heritage Handicaps, Alex Bird) and whilst we didn’t want to ‘over egg the pudding’ we thought that by linking to the existing ITV 7 competition, which many members enter already, we could add another string to our bow!
 
Essentially we have set up a ‘mini league’ which members can join via the ITV 7 website. https://itv7.itv.com/
 
All you have to do is click on the ‘leagues’ option on the ITV 7 home page then select ‘join a league’.
 
The league name is NMRC and the entry code is 1Z2PX4
 
Members can join straight away and win the monthly prize of a 'Golden Ticket' to enter on of our major competitions. Your entries are then scored via the ITV 7 website and you can track progress via the NMRC Mini League.
 
The monthly prize is awarded for the top entry (most winners each month then if a tie most placed horses. If still a tie then least unplaced horses will apply). 
 
For all entrants there will also be a yearly competition with the winner receiving the ‘Burgess Cup’ named in memory of former life members Martin & Jennifer Burgess.

WALES RACING CLUB – JOINT EVENTS WITH N&M RACING CLUB

The Wales Racing Club arrange regular stable visits to which all North & Midlands Racing Club members are usually invited.

This gives our members a great opportunity to visit stables outside our region so please support these events if you can.

Racin' magazine is produced bi-monthly to members covering Feb/Mar; Apr/May; Jun/Jul; Aug/Sept; Oct/Nov; Dec/Jan.

Members contributions for publication are always welcome and should be sent to the editor by 25th of the month before publication.
